ive been wondering for a while if i were to buy a jdm turbo motor if it will still pass emissions without all the EGR and emissions crap on it? i live in VA where they suck a bunch of tax money out of me but wont let me drive wat i want to drive so i need it to pass emissions. if it wont pass with out the emissions crap is it easy to put all that stuff on it?
thanks for the answers

So you tell me not to tell tell you to search... I am going to guess you didn't search too because all those answers can be answered easy.

Lets see here Is this what you are saying "I want to pass emissions tests, but I have no emissions crap on my car because I installed a JDM motor." Ummm.......lets think about this one, this is a hard question to answer.

I think the answer is simple "PUT THE EMISSIONS STUFF BACK ON".

Ok unlike Borhor and 92nsx

I am going to pose the question in a different light.

What exactly makes the emission controls items "crap". And no I don't mean an " I Think", " I feel" etc. I mean from a cold hard science or math facts?

i dident mean that the emissions stuff is crap i meant as like stuff.
all i want to know is.
can you install the EGR and all the other emissions stuff onto a JDM motor without any problems? because if you can i will just buy a JDM turbo motor rebuild it and put the emissions stuff onto it instead of trying to find a wreaked turbo car that i can take everything out of.

I went to get my car inspected with no EGR here in Mecklenberg county Charlotte, NC and they told me I wouldn't pass but if I went to the DMV and had it checked there and they said the JDM engine was ok it would be fine. I have the JDM ECU and everything so I wanted to see if it would be ok to run without the EGR. I'll probably end up putting it on anyway =\ and find some USDM ECU at the junkyard in case the fuel maps really are different.

to find out if it has been asked before, you can search for it :3d_frown:

why would the same model motor pass emisions without the emision components?

not trying to bash you, just a lot of sillyness in your op. plus it seems like you know what you need to do, so do what you do
