Does anyone know where I can get some motor mount bushing for the JDM 7MGTE, I got my jdm motor but both my original motor and jdm motor both have bad bushings, But I noticed they are different.. The jdm mounts look better and easier to install.. and are square vs. the round 1's for the originals. I haven't been able to find anyone that can get the jdm version on the bushing which again is SQUARE.. Any help is appreciated..

Actually, those aren't J / US market specific, they are specific to the subframe.

So, unless you are going to swap out the subframe in your car, you will need to buy the round ones to match your subframe. Or make some solids for a little of that go-cart feel, which is my personal favorite route.

^they work. I am using them with my 1j. it's just as you say. there's a small dowel on the bottom that needs to be cut off. they work great. engine doesn't torque much when you rev it and no added vibration

Well the mounts from the JDM and US are basically the same, except 1 is round and the other is square.. I looked at them side by side and they line up.. But the JDM mount looks a whole lot better..

so the 98 supra motor mounts will work with the 7m?
nothing needed, just cut off the little dowel pin?

I used them for my 1J, which uses the same as the 7M. The threads are the same and everything, they're just a far sturdier looking mount and feel a fair bit stiffer too.

I'll say this again.

THE MOUNTS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE.

If your car came with round mounts, you MUST use round mounts on it. Unless you happen to have a different front crossmember, and plan on swapping it out at the same time to accept the other style mounts.

Yep...need to listen to GrimJack. This is a true statement.
The square mounts came on '87-88 and some early '89 cars. The round mounts were introduced mid '89 and went to '92.

I guess I forgot to mention I did get the front clip of the car.. So if it doesn't fit right then I'll change the crossmember with it also.. And if all fails, Screw it.. I just go buy the newer round mounts and cut the ends off like someone said.. Yall have been a great help.. I'm still a little new to the supra world.. Cars been sitting in my yard for a year collecting dust till I was finally able to get cash for the motor(INCOME TAX IS GREAT).. Thanks again guys..

ok look, you dont have to change your cross member. do you have the mounts that were on the motor that came with YOUR car?

use whatever mounts came with YOUR car.

JDM and USDM mounts have no difference. here is how it works:

86.5-88 - SQUARE style motor mounts
89-92 - ROUND style motor mounts
no difference be it USDM or JDM.

you use whatever motor mounts came with your car.

Did you get the ones I sent you yet?
Yes I got them thanks.. They are the exact ones I needed.. I will put these on next weekend.. I never did get my parts(clutch) I ordered from www.turboimport.com.. I ordered them 3weeks ago.. They waited 2 weeks to ship.. Then I was told they shipped out last Friday.. I should have gotten them by now.. But I guess I will have to wait some more.. I ordered my rps flywheel from suprastore and got that quick.. We'll see how everything goes..
