Im still hooked on this car and i have several links to japaneese car suppliers thats not in the US so i can buy the car directly. Here is what i've found. 1993 mk3(YES A 93!) with a 1jzgte w/5speed / 84k km or roughly 48+k miles but its a hardtop for 1100usd/ 1500shipping in container/ 730us for broker fees to clear the car and put it in my hands. other one is a 1991 1ggte 2.0 twin turbo/ auto/ 101km 900usd plus same shipping and broker fees apply.

Illegal as hell but i was thinking of shipping the car, getting it here and then buying a salvaged mk3 or salvaged title and switch vins. uuum, i know illegal but cheap! lol

i was looking at an mkiv with a factory jdm TRD aero kit and deepdish rips, lowered and no mods for 5500, same shipping and broker fees apply. mk4 is a 1995 white/5spd RZ- non turbo version.

I dont wanna bring a car over here thats going to cost me an arm and a leg to legalize, it runs 8-18k depending on the car....i was two seconds away from grabbin a beautiful burgany 1996 r33 gts-t with the rb25det engine for 2500 , but the car has no american counterpart and legalizing to US standards was running 9800usd.. screw that!...what are ya'll thoughts?

what!!!? there that cheap? i dont know bout that bro, show me.

being from the caribbean i've grown up around japaneese turbo cars all my life. EVERYWHERE ELSE on planet earth gets them but the us, because our laws make it almost impossible for an individual to get their hands on one without knowing the right people.

Remember its the year 06', and japaneese cars are produced cheaper that US cars are so pickingup a 93 mk3 is not anything big, it shouldnt be. The way the US market is based especially around turbo cars makes up crave it. but the jap market has a turbo counterpart to almost every base model car they produce, even freaking SUVs and station wagons. i dont wanna sound like a dick but you can locate wholesale suppliers all over the internet or even auctioneers that will go to an auction for you for a very small fee and find ur desired car and return you all necessary pics and detailed vehicle info needed to make ur decision. just do a search.

Getting a 95 skyline r33 or late model r34 will run you between 2500-15k, GODZILLA aka GT-r R34 will run u close to 40k because their in high demand and short supply, and their not that old either.

any other thoughts, i know what im talking about is down right illegal. but its easy.

lol lol lol

good lucky

after import duties and then trying to get that car certified equals importer losing.

P.S customs is the 2nd biggest revenue generator for the US. only trailing behind the IRS ;) They WILL get the money!

I knew there were 1993 MKIII's. I was searching last night but couldnt find any info on them

Try searching Yahoo Japan auctions. Ive seen MKIII's go for as low as $500 in excellent condition.

If you do import the car it will take forever to get it certified in the U.S. before they release the car to you.

there are reasons you have customs brokers out there, companies that work inside the system. To buy a car from japan and have it shipped here, a regular individual will probably never see their car....there is alwayz a way and thats where brokers get their money.

Here is my secret, if the car is shipped to canada unlinke the US it can be cleared but not registered... what you do from there is to locate a shipping company that ships between Quebec canada and the US, and their are so many to choose from. Again legalizing the car is not in my intentions, re-vin-ing the car with a salvaged mk3 title from a junk yard or someone thats selling an mk3 shell is what i would do.

You remove the VIN tags from a legal car (usually a wreck with a clear titile) and install those on your JDM shell.

It's a serious felony, but people do it all the time.

Personally, I wouldn't. I'm not risking time for PMITA prison for anything, let alone a 10+ year old car.

Here is a little more information that might help. A buddy of mine was looking at buying an R33 and a R32 skyline as a track car for his company. He did some research and found out that if you buy the car and get them labeled as “PARTS ONLY” you don’t have as many fees or problems getting them into the US. They never did get the cars, I not sure why not but I do remember him saying something like that. As for your idea of switching the vin #'s. I think that it is like up to a 20-year sentience if caught. I thought of doing this before when I saw a mint Turbo A for sale. I think it sold for like 1,500.

Its kinda funny because people really do it ALL the time. But it should only be done with an american counter-part. it would be stupid to revin a skyline as a mustang..lol. but i had a friend import s14 silvia and revin-ed it as a believe 92-93 240sx, he told everyone that he spliced his shell and did a RHD conversion, he got pulled over so many times it wasnt funny and cops couldnt tell the difference. he did this for 3yrs str8 until he sold he car for a crap load of money, almost three times what he paid for it because it was tru JDM...people fall for anything, no offense but thats why you have rich kids that are jackasses paying 80-95k for a damn 1998 skyline and think their the ishit. i had one of those im my last neighborhood.

the MAJOR tecnicallity with shipping a parts car is the engine/powertrain HAS TO be in a seperate container from shell and shipped under different names and must not be picked up at the same timei, US customs is not stupid.. my uncle did this with and evo 5 from jamaica, then sold it for almost 30k.
