Is this possible? I have an 88 turbo auto. Can I put a jdm ecu on there if the years match or are they a different plug?

That is what i am wanting to do is bin it. I know there are alot of controversy over it. It can be tuned without it with an aem but I am not sure it can with the maftpro. SO i am looking to get the jdm ecu. I have an auto so an ems would involve getting a trans controller as well. This will be a upgrade later on.
a jdm auto ecu matching your pin out (gray or yellow) depending on year. Good luck man they arent a dime a dozen. no egr is about the only reason for this as it adds a speed limit (112mph iirc) as well. That can be bypassed by cutting the pink wire (before the timer runs out and the car explodes...

I'm using a JDM ECU, and my engine was JDM. However, my wiring harness is USDM and all the sensors plug up. No EGR and no speed limiter on the ECU.
I got it with my JDM engine/trans imported from Japan. It could have a limiter but I've seen 150 mph on the speedo with no cut =\
The car's a bit far away from me right now I can guarantee the ECU did come with my JDM engine though. The hacked up harness still had plugs on it and it looked like it matched with the engine, which was definitely 100% JDM.

since the JDM can not "open" the VSV. The closed VSV prevents the EFR from going into the intake. So it will not run rich. It will run spot on.

I can confirm that p/n is a JDM ECU. I can also confirm that, as figgie pointed out, since the box has no VSV output (at least none I've seen) the EGR question is moot...
