nicely said, j-dub. i wouldn't have deleted it. but hey, only mods can see it now.
open wide, this is a big spoon:

what do i need to do to a jdm 90 7mgte if im gonna put it in a 87? what parts/sensors/connectors do i need to swap out? so far i got egr, tb, oil pressure sensor. i have parts from the old 87 7mgte to swap on.
you'll need the engine harness
and ECU from an 87-88 car. they have yellow plugs/connectors. you'll have to splice a few (4 at most) 1-wire connectors from a late (89+) style harness onto the 87-88 harness because there are a few connectors that are different. it's very easy to do.
you'll need to find an HAC sensor as well, because the 87-88 ECU uses an EXTERNAL HAC (high altitude compensation) sensor. it's a three pin sensor that mounts under the glove box area. you'll see the wires for it on the engine harness.
unless you NEED the EGR to pass emissions in your area, then you can leave that off. in order to retain stock-style linkage, you'll need the TB as you already mentioned, and you're on the right track with the oil pressure sending unit as well.
the j-spec ECU will NOT work if it's an 89+ ECU and going into a pre '89 chassis. it would plug into an 89+ ENGINE harness, but then the engine harness would NOT plug into the chassis of the car, as all the connectors changed, so in short, you cannot use the JDM ecu if it's an '89+ ECU.
