JDM 2JZGTE 6 Speed MKIII

so im looking into buying a JDM MKIV 6 speed 2JZGTE here in a few weeks and slap it in my MKIII...what is going to be my pros and cons with this setup? anyone? for one i know ill have am issue with the diff and the drive shaft and i somewhat have to bang the shit out of my tranny area to make that getrag tranny fit on my MKIII....anything else? suggestions and recommendations?

Your gears are going to be short as shit. That's about it downside wise. Sometimes they fit just fine, sometimes they need hammer-based help.

Yeah the 6 speed getrag is set up for a 3.13 ratio. God that would be awful in a car with a 4.30 non-turbo rear, lol. You'd be at 3,500 RPM in 6th on the highway.

More an issue of the first 2 gears being useless making it a 4 speed ;)

another suggestion is you can always sell the getrag and get a r154. I think the r154 might be a tad bit stronger in the end, and not to mention you can get half your swap money back just selling the getrag; the prices on those things are ridiculous.

Getrag V160 are really strong gearboxes. Jessica Barton drives a 1000+HP Supra with a V160. All they did was have it rebuilt by a reputable guy who everyone knows on SF and she runs 9's launching with Anti-lag.

Pretty stout if you ask me.
