Dane Cook is funny, if you can relate. I do have to say that his popularity partially comes from being more visually appealing than other, more talented comedians [you don't see Jessica Simpson dating Jerry Seinfeld]. Most of the cheers you hear from the audience during sexual jokes come from women. He is also very popular with the high-school and college party crowd, who can relate to his immaturity.
Some of his bits are better than others. Some are ridiculous, but I love the way they are delivered - the way he speaks is very goofy and unorthodox.
That said, his comedy is very immature sounding. I love some of his bits, but some are dumb. He also gives the impression that he is a real A-hole in person. Overall, I've heard his albums and standup, and they have made me laugh pretty hard, but he's not as funny as other comedians. I think he is one of the funnier of the young, newer comedians, but he doesn't compare to anyone like Eddie Murphy - no way.
I think that it takes different strokes to move the world, and comedy is a total reflection of that. What might be right for you may not be right for some. Some people say Dave Chappelle is the ultimate. I think he's funny, but not as good as others. Personally, I'd rather listen to Chris Rock. Does that make me wrong? No, just different from others. Some things just strike a better chord with me.

Dane Cook was amusing, then came he's the funniest guy ever talk from everywhere.

i think Drunk_medic hit it right when describing Dane Cook. Dane is now at superstar status in the comedy culture because MOST of the people who pay to see comedy these days are people of their 20's and low 30's in which is the demographic that dane can relate to best. His energy, his pantamime abilities and the way he delivers is how he gets the laughs...the technical jokes wouldnt be shit if it wasnt for his delivery.

one of my favorite standup's is Robin Williams' Live on Broadway....mostly improv, the man can come up with shit on the fly..hes fuckin awesome.
