i went under the light at yellow and he said it was red..
i am going to fight this.
1 more in the next year and im done with!
i have to fight it or when i go to insure the supra in my name it is gonna be more. by the way he didnt give me a red light ticket he gave me careless driving....WTF

That sounds like my luck 92. I've tried to fight a ticket before, and it didnt turn out so good. I got fined contempt of court for three hundred dollars and still had to pay the ticket for speeding. I swear before God that I wasnt speeding also. The cop didnt even have a radar gun. The judge even told him that he should have showed me his radar gun if he had one, but he still sided with the cop. BULLSH T!!!! Anyways, I hope yours turns out better, because here(Alabama) reckless driving is 5 points on your record and 12 points gets them revoked. Good luck!!

if all else fails you can go with the deffered method if your state allows it. have it off of ur record but you still pay the $. just as long as you dont get another ticket within a 1 year period, if your trust yourself to not do this shit infront of a cop then go with that. otherwise get ready to hitch rides.

just curious, maybe it might of had something to do with how young you are , or how young you look, ,, how old are you ?

I had a few run ins with po when I was in my late teens .... cops dont like young guys in sports cars, sepecially an import.....

like americanjebus said,, at you hearing, ask the judge if you and have the penalty lessened , by not getting any points and still pay the fine, ?? I did that about a yr ago and the judge agreed ,,, worth a try ... but remember to dress nice, and be respectfull,, that always helped, ,, at least for me it did,

I ot off on my only one because I kept on pushing the court date back. The original date was 6 months after the ticket and then my new date was 7 months after. Just s happened that te officer relocated to a different district, which meant he wasn't able to show up for court since he didn't belong to the original district from when the ticket was issued.

well, i have gotten a few tickets, and the one cop dared me to take it to court because he had a calibrated radar gun and not only would i lose, but i would waste more time and money.....i was so pissed off i was shaking....

i was going 25 over on a pretty open road and i was coming down a hill. i was coming back from the shop and was freaking out because i was pretty broke, and didnt think i could pay for the work my car needed. i told they cop why i was stressed out and was in a rush to get home, then officer jackass hands me a $200 ticket after hearing that, because im allready broke, another 200 in the hole wont hurt. i had had my supra for 7 days when that happened....

he said i wasnt going to get any points because he was under federal somthing or other and he couldnt assign points at a state level, im not sure if i belive him, but i have no idea how to find out.

right after i got my licence i got a ticket for having false plates because my dads truck that i was driving had expired plates which he couldnt afford to renew. so he scraped the tags off of his celica and put em on the truck and didnt tell me. when we went to cort he took all the blame but i still got the ticket because of stupid colorado laws saying that if your behind the wheel youare responseable for everything:icon_evil

Just go to court and get the ticket reduced...they will usually do this for your first tcket. Be happy you dont live in jersey because here they charge an extra 250$ to drop the points on a ticket.

here in cali, 2 out of 3 times the cop is a no-show, so ticket gets dropped, or find out if the cop has all his equipment registered and up to date, if not he is not Technically allowed to issue a ticket, ive never done that though.

i wasnt in my supra its winter here
i was in my alero.....
anywqays one of the cops was going to give me a warning but as he said that the other cop pointed his flashlight at me and said "these youngins need to learn there lessons and stop driving like dicks" asshole.... lol but now my insurance is going to go up in march when i insure my supra... i dont have imsurance on it now cause i dont move it n the winter

it's pretty nice here in KC... I've had 5 tickets since I started driving I'm now 21 and none of them are on my record... I had one when I was going 87 in a 65 which was $140 and all I had to do here was pay one and a half the fine and it was off of my record... but it's different from city to city here... some of the other cities as long as you hired a lawyer and paid double the fine it was off your record ( the lawyers here charge $50 for a speeding ticket... luckily we have a close family friend that is a good/well known lawyer here in KC)... I don't know if they allow you to double it to get it off your record there but I'd definately try... and if they tell you that you need a lawyer for that ask them if you can get an extension and usually depending on the judge they'll give you anywhere from 2weeks-1month to get a lawyer... it works... my insurance in my name here is $125 a month... not too bad seeing as my roomate with a few, I think 2 tickets pays somewhere around 250-300 a month for his 89 5.0 lx mustang...

Don't you have to pay court costs regardless of whether or not you show up? When I got my ticket (In STL) I know I had to pay court charges and I just paid the damn ticket (would have been $100 or so in gas just to get there anyway). Don't just pay the ticket though, show up to court. You don't need a lawyer (atleast in IN) because if the cop shows up you're screwed anyway, but if he doesn't its like it never happened.

Don't tell your insurance company about it either. Don't change your policies or anything like that. I went a year before they caught mine and now it's damn near off of my record.

Insurance companies R gonna love you. 16 w/ a turbo Supra, possibly w/ a ticket... I would put the Supra in your parents name and put you on something else... like a Metro or something. I'm insured on our 87 Ford Ranger and how many times do you think I drive it? :icon_conf

Damn! 92 turbo. 600.00 a month!! My insurance is 189.00 every three months for full coverage. I couldnt pay 600 a month. I'd have to ride a bike. Good luck with your court date though, and yes you pay court cost wheter you go or not.

Well for 600 a month id take that risk right now since my car is going thru a rebuild so it wont be insured till but my suspension is so f***ed up that you could get it out of the drive way lol.
