I've driven the awd turbo and the n/a dual cam. I give credit to them. I'll admit I was wrong, I was thinking of the base model stealth. so my bad on that. well given that its a fairly matched race.

I'm terrible. ;)

I owned a '95 3000GT and then I also owned an '02 3G...

What the eff was wrong with me? :nono:

But the 3G was uber reliable. I miss it sometimes.........for daily driving. :biglaugh:

i have faith in my supra brother. i too have driven an SL, and it was torque steer all over the place. this car was wore out with a lot of miles, but i would never want a fwd. yuck, smoke him, and show him where he went wrong ;)

My friend has a 91 supra with an exhaust and 10 psi, he beat a vr4 by about 3 cars last weekend. I havnt run him with my 88, but you should have no problem with the sl.

Either the owner of this VR-4 cannot shift, has something SERIOUSLY wrong with his car, or simply wasn't a legit race.

What's not a legit race?

Anything that isn't flagged by a tree with actual time slips for proof of a fair race.

There are many factors. You just compared a factory car made in 1990 with 232bhp to a factory car made in the mid 90's with 320bhp.

We're talking about a 220bhp car to a 200bhp car both made a few years apart. Not quite as big of a power difference.

We're all making predictions and assumptions...So how about we let the two cars do the talking and cross our fingers for another A70 win. :)

If neither of you have been to the track before, you can greatly increase your odds by paying close attention to the lights BEFORE you race. Watch the lights and get your timing down. It will be hard to red light. Anticipate the next to last light and try leave exactly when it lights up. I doubt very seriously that you will red light, but if you do, you just race again.

And if you do lose.... welcome to the turbo club.

We've both backed out. He's decided not to run the 3kgt, but instead swap a 406 in his 2000 s-10 w/a th350 tranny. He said its a built motor with 550hp(crank). So hes going to complete that project in the up coming weeks and im going to try and complete mine. We'll both be at the track with poor trap times and high et's lol. I tried talking him in to tt'ing the gt but he was dead set on his truck swap. Im dead set on my na-t upgrade, so where going to meet back in the summer with our projects @ hand hoping for the best.

3000gt sl's are crap. its the single cam version. making roughly 160hp not sure if its to the fly or to the ground. either way you'll win.. we think supras are tanks well these things are HEAVY and unless you got the power to back it its weak. even with its mods its nothing.

WOW, way wrong. SL is fully loaded without AWD and the twins. Yes its very heavy due to the luxury items, yes its very slow and heavy at roughly 3500lbs plus driver and fuel. It is NOT single cam, its a DOHC 222 horse(which is actually slightly overrated from the factory). Good luck with the race. (sorry, I just saw boost lee's reply) btw, I raced my stang vs. a vr4 with only exhaust work... WOW, that vr4 made me feel stupid off the line, he held three cars all the way through the run. I chatted with him after the run, he mentioned he revved it to 6 grand and dropped clutch on 275 street tires. I cant launch past 3k before my 275's boil. I actually spun a little too much on that run, regardless, 3 vs 2 lengths doesnt matter, I got owned!
