Yep, the NorthAmerica ones get GM Ecotecs with blowers.
Now, skip the belt driven pressure and give me the Ecotec from the Turbo Solstice.. and about 450hp...
Then the wider rear tires, larger brakes and other stuff that slightly more weight car would have to deal with, and BOOM goes all your conceptions of what fast is. (Or was?)
Figure 1800lbs and 450rwhp... it would be a sub 10 second quarter mile car that could out corner a superbike, and should have a top end like nothing else on the road. (Untill areo drag took over and slowed you down, or you run out of rpm.)
My problem is I'd be adding wings, undertrays and other stuff to keep it stuck to the road...
I have a 06 FZ1, and it's pretty fast, but I belive this would be faster by a bit...
And I also have a nice 450rwhp MK3, and it's fast, but this would be faster by a bunch
