That photo of the kids is so tastefull..

No scary costumes, just fun stuff. (Why bother to tell your kids that Halloween is about beggars nigh out? LOL)

All the "nasty" elements in a town would go out for the evening for tricks or treats, and it's become quite the commercial event now days. (We don't have official beggars anymore, we call them a much more PC name... Homeless persons....)

There is some of the occult tied up in this whole deal too, but really it's just commercialized now to the point where it's just another holliday we can count down before the big sales after Thanksgiving, and the mindless spending of money before Christmas every year.

Love the hollidays! Don't you guys? (They really do make for a fun harvest season, and it brightens up an otherwise downer of going from fall to winter in most areas with 4 actual seasons.)

Healthy Halloween? fuck it! it's one fucking day, let the kids have their candy and shut the hell up. Although it's not just one day, my stash used to reside in the freezer for at least a month longer, the fact remains that we need to let kids be kids and stop trying to protect them from every little danger the world has to offer... oh no, sugar! give them apples. the apples may have razor blades stuffed in them, the granola bars may have had chemicals mixed into them, but at least we're living on the off chance that everyone's honest and true.

i remember coming home bleeding pretty much every time i played with my friends, now i cant remember the last time my little brother played outside.

Christ, for the first 17 years of my life if I didn't have an open wound, scab or fresh scar, something was amiss.
Seeing kids just stay inside makes me sick, I mean, they don't know what they're missing. I used to be outside all day, from the moment I woke up until it got dark. Then, there could be Nintendo or board games or whatever, not during the light of day... ::sigh:: now we're getting OT in an OT thread, but I honestly hate the way things are going.
