We I finally got my motor in thr car and everything taken care of and now it won't run. I can spary starter fuild in the intake and it crank for a sec. and then cut off. So I'm not getting fuel. I can hear the fuel pump running and I loosened the banjo bolt on the fuel rail and gas came squirting out. So I'm guessing it has something to do with the injectors. When cranking I can't feel/hear the injectors pulsing. I am going to check tonight to see if they are getting power and also check the ohms.

Also the fuel pump will some time continue run with the key off and not cut off until I either disconnect the battery or pull the efi fuse. My only thought is that it isn't building up enough pressure to tell the pump to cut off but I figure it would cut off with the key off. It only does it sometimes though. Any ideas?

Do you have the AFM connected? The grounds connected to the intake manifold? I know simple questions but you wouldn't believe how many has forgot the simple things.

Also, I hope you're not spraying starter fluid into the AFM.

I had the AFM connected with the piping connected. I just don't have an air filter in it atm. No I took the piping off and unpluged the AFM when I was spraying the into the TB.

Umm..... Are you talking about those grounds that both have to sets of wires attached, one set is white with black lines and the other is brown with black lines? I don't have those hooked up, I thought they were just for the A/T. (the car has been swapped to 5spd)

I haven't checked for codes yet. I will when I get home.

I was just making sure that no fuel was the problem. Now what is causing it to have no fuel is what I'm tring to figure out now.

the fuel system is very simple....problem solve before you spray foreign chemicals into your combustion chambers! check to see if the pump is getting power.

The pump is getting power. I can hear it running and when I loosen the bolt from the fuel rail while it is running it sprays out and seems to be around the 30lbs of pressure that it is supposed to be. I haven't checked the pressure because I dont really have a way to check it. Any good ways to do it?

Philly.
this is how u can test the injectors.

take out ur CPS and have it plugged in. Spin it quickly (with key in the on position), u should hear the injectors click and the coils/spark plugs fire.

Also have u tried priming your fuel pump manually? i'd do that first, in the diag. port Jump FP and B+, fuel pump should go on, infact i would leave it jumped and would try to crank the car and see if it turns over. If so then u probably have a bad relay or resistor.

So that's the problem? Do I just hook them up to any bolt on the intake? I feel so stupid. I was about to hook them up but then I was nah, they only mattered with the A/T.

There is a bolt on the bottom of the middle manifold that the grounds connect to. Hook them up and let us know if it runs then.

Told you that sometimes it's the simple things that get over looked.

Yes, no ECU grounds will sometimes set an 11 but there's still a bit of a mystery here. It may not be the wires because in theory he shouldn't have spark or the fuel pump without them. However the colors and location seems right so lets see if AJ nailed it. Fwiw the engine should run with the ECU grounds missing, just not very well and they need to be connected for it to start.

That did the trick. I hooked them up and it fired right up. It also fixed the fuel pump staying on. Thanks for all the help.
