when I'm standing in front of the engine bay looking towards the back of the car the drivers side should be the "right" side, which side is the "right" side looking from the trunk looking towards the front of the car, the passenger side?

there is a right and left tank strap, is the passenger the right side or is the drivers side the right side? As we know when viewing the engine the intake side is on the drivers the "right side", now viewing the from the back of the car is the drivers side left or right side?

When it comes to ordering parts passenger side is the "right" side. Order a right front fender and see what you get. Many parts are right/left specific. Passenger side = right side.

Depends, the perspective is always in the drivers seat, however the drivers seat can be on the right side, (jap spec cars for example). Us spec cars have the passenger sitting on the right side

Unless it's not a LHD car.
