using my key is failing to start the car more and more, so I need address this. I remember reading something about it a while back, involving a 30a relay I believe. Search owns me and won again.....
The real problem would lie in the corrosion of the contacts of your electrical. You should never need to ADD wires or relays as a maintenance item. I recently had this problem on my 2JZ, I cleaned the contact on my starter signal wire and all is well again. My friend on the other hand, fed a new wire from his ignition to his starter signal wire.. I'll let you go ahead and decide.
I'll start off by saying that I'm not overly fond of this method of 'fixing' things. However, search on the terms "STARTER" and "BYPASS", this shows up pretty quickly.
Exactly. It's a bandaid fix so as long as you're getting a little bit of voltage, it will work for the mean time. If the existing problem were to get worse though and you lose voltage on that line completely, you're back where you started in the first place. This is also assuming the problem isn't somewhere in the starter itself as well.
