Isn't a .57 trim from drift motion is it? Also too much play I suspect?

I think (HOPE!) that the poster there was being facetious. This is a bad idea, intercooled is much better.

A MAF (Mass Air Flow) is just a different type of sensor which is supposed to measure mass, taking into account temperature/density of air as well as speed. The stock AFM (Air Flow Meter) just meters speed, and the ECU corrects for ambient temp and somewhat for pressure via the HAC sensor. Because the MAF handles temperature and density to some degree, some people will put them in the charge pipe post turbo, and it works.

Since you need a signal transcoder anyway, it's the same amount of work to use a MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor anyway, so you might as well just do that instead. Going with a MAP sensor means that the ECU will deal with the air that actually makes it to the intake manifold and not need to worry about the blow off valve, Idle speed controller, vacuum/boost leaks, or whatever. (Still better to deal with those, though!)

Was 99.9% sure, but on the Internet, you can never be sure, y'know?

I never meant to imply that the MAF is a substitute for an Intercooler, just that intercooled is much better than not.

At one point, I'd considered something like this with the MAF post intercooler and post BOV, so that it would read only air flow entering the manifold, but there's still no advantage to this versus a MAP conversion.

Without some sort of emoticon, I wasn't going to let it pass. Downstream MAFs are tricky because you need laminar flow so it must be in a decent length of straight pipe. Also, oil fouling can be an issue.

Its just to catch the turbo fins. its like an inline filter for your air!! =p <----------Joke
