Hey guys, This is a fantastic thread.

Im new to posting here...been lurking for a long time(great forum BTW). I also have the VPC and trying to figure out what to do about my ISCV.

I want to tap a hole in my 3" pipe to the turbo(SP61GT). Between the airfilter and the turbo and join the tube from the ISCV to that point. Its not the prettiest place to run it to but, should be effective,be just like stock a run fine right?

thanks in advance.

you can do it that way if you want. or, since you have a vpc you can just run a small breather filter on the isc instead of the hose.

It is much better to use a breather filter it is a much cleaner looking setup.
If you have smog visuals they will frown on it.

Figgie i am sorry about jumping on you you are right the 1JZ and 7M functions verry diffrent I just thought you were insisting on the 1JZ not metering.

Ok for clerification if you have a 7M or 2JZ USDM(not JDM) & oem ECU & use the MAF setup you must plumb your ISC & your BOV into the intake track behind the metered air sensor the MAF towards the engine.

IF you upgrade to a VPC aka MAP for the 7M or have a 1JZ or a 2JZ JDM ecu setup then as long as the air is metered at the Manifold (plenum) you can plumb your intake in just about any way you want.

To illustrate how problemmatic MAF is if you have a BOV or ISC to atmosphere or even a single vacume leak in the whole oem 7M or 2JZ usdm setup your car will run like crap & die if it runs at all.

No big deal just another reason why MAF & OBDII sucks.

I think I will go the small air filter route. Thanks for the great idea....Anybody have pics? I seen the one earlier in the thread but im still trying to figure that one out...Looks kind of confusing(I dont recognize the engine in the pic posted by 1.3JZGTE) Im guessing its a JZ series. Same principal though i guess. Thanks again.

Is this a New thread question or just leave it here?

I have another issue....When my car is at idle when I first start it up cold...it revs up and down up and down. it stays that way when warmed up as well. I also put the air filter on the ISCV tube.

When I plug the ISCV tube completely with my thumb the car idles smooooth..then when i unplug the tube it idles up and down up and down. It also did this before I put the filter on the ISCV tube. I just failed to mention it.

Question...can I just plug it (ISCV tube)and drive it? Or do you think I have other issues at hand?

Bad ISCV?
TPS?

Still learning to trouble shoot..so be nice...no I dont have a tsrm..I use the online one...Anyone have one for sale for an 87 turbo?

ok, well running a stock afm, would blocking off the isc work while using the idle adjust screw to get your idle to where it needs to be? or does the isc control a special function of the car other than the idle speed? id rather my car idle at 1k all the time and delete the isc completely, instead of continually wondering why it is needed at all if you have a manual idle control
