Hello,
I recently removed my isc valve to do the bench test listed in the service manual, and everything checked out. When I installed the isc, it was in the fully open position. My question is this, does the ecu set the isc where it needs to be at startup, or did I screw it up by installing it fully open?. Should the valve be open or closed at startup? The car will not start at all? Any help would be appreciated? Ed

I also have to take my ISC apart and clean the inside of it. Does it have to be reassembled a certain way?

The only thing I did so far was check the resistance of the plug (as the TSRM suggests) and it was in spec. I also left it unplugged and the car did start but pulsated in the RPM range of 1.0 and 1.5 RPM. I then shut the car off, plugged the ISC back in and the car idled where it should.

The reason I need to do this is that my car stalls sometimes after a high RPM run to a stop sign or stop light.

ISC should be open at least somewhat at startup. Was your car running before you removed the ISC? Check your engine codes and see what comes up.

The car was running before I took the isc off to test it, but it was not running well. The idle would jump around and the car would sputter. After checking and re-installing the isc, now it wont start at all.WTF?
