I ordered the N/A oil filter stud from Toyota...

http://cygnusx1.net/supra/library/EPC/MKIII_NATO/291410/1502_1.html

I just want to confirm that I got what is pictured above...
It just seems short, about 1 1/4" long.
Also, do I need any type of O-ring or thread sealer on it?

According to the diagram that you linked, it looks correct to me. I'm not sure about the o-ring. I would think that it would be a washer. But, you could probably use some teflon tape on it.

I would probably put some thread locker on the side that goes in the block..I remember one time i was changing the filter on my honda and the stud came out attached to the filter..i was like wtf??? So i put some thread locker on it and it never happened again..Maybe its just hondas meh..

I guess it wouldn't hurt to put thread locker on it. It's not like it needs to come out again (unless the filter side gets stripped). But, that's just a socket and some muscle away from coming out.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll probably have more questions when I get my oil filter relocation kit from permacool.

Thanks again!

and since you're relocating the filter, you should not need Lock Tight either.

BTW, the part# listed in the TSRM for the N/A stud (15600A) has changed to (90404-20173)
I used the old# at the dealer and it comes up as a discontinued part so I was ready to give up when they called me back and gave me the new#.

15600A is not (and never was) a part number. It is a PNC (Part Name Code). It's the same number on all Toyotas. It's just an easy way to find parts in the catalog. If the dealer didn't know this right off the bat, I'd say they were n00bs, or just having a bad day. ;)

90404-20173 is (and always has been -- never changed) the part number.

When looking stuff up in the EPC, the numbers in the diagrams are usually PNC's. (Unless they're 10- or 12-digit numbers). You can use them at the dealership, but they don't tell you any information about year/colour/application, as they are NOT Supra specific numbers (They're the same in all Toyota Catalogs).

Click on the PNC in the EPC and it will give you a list of actual part numbers.

If you are going with a full flow cooler circuit like I describe in the above thread, you will have to block the old oil pan return and that is correct size bolt to use. Also get an appropriate size oil pan washer to use with the bolt.

I need a little help with the hose fittings.
I dont think I want to use the barb fittings that came with the permacool kit.
It looks like I'll need some 90deg. or maybe 45deg. bends coming off of the filter adapter thats on the block.
I'm lost when it comes to an, npt and so on. I dont want to buy the wrong stuff.
Any help or ideas or even pics of what you guys used to do your setup would be great...
Thanks for all the help and input so far!
