so earlier today i drove my supra, kinda hard and the engine check light came on.

i got kinda worried so i drove home and let it idle for 1 min .

after turning it off, i turn'd the car back on to see if the engine check light was still showing.

its only longer there, and the engine runs fine.

question is was it just a glitch? or theres sumthing wrong.

i understand when u guys want me to check my codes. I know how to check the codes.

if there was sumthing wrong, would the car have the engine check light stay on constantly? or it just shows and disappears?

sounds like fuel cut which is a good thing but you should check your codes just to be sure there isn't something else going on

not really when my O2 went the check engine light came on and then turned back off 30 seconds later car drove fine the entire time. I pulled the codes the next day and it was the only one.

replaced O2, reset the codes and it hasnt been back since.

the ecu can store codes with out having the check engine light on. i believe a 51 will do this for example or it it will flash for a sec and go back off and store a code.

when diagnosing a problem checking for codes(not check engine light) should be the first thing you do.

I too thought the light staying on was weird. My guess of fuel cut, the light comes on, and goes back out pretty quickly. After checking codes, don't panic, and go buy an ECU. Most codes list that as a possible problem. Report back here what you find, and you may get help right in this thread. Most codes have been covered numerous times, so a search may give you quick results. Or, you could post a question, but some people get cranky if you don't at least try to help yourself with a search before posting the question.

Like I said, all I did was guess at fuel cut, with little to go on. It might be that, or it could be numerous other problems.
