okay so here's the story. i took my shifter out and i got it all figured out.
unfortuantly, i still have a broken camera, so i couldn't take a bunch of closeups like usual.
well, the pivot bushing was destroyed, in two pieces. this happened because i didn't have that thin teflon thing that goes around the bore of where it rides. another is because i put the green bushing on top of the stock rubber washer bushing thing, which would make the pivot bushing ride higher in the bore and probably rip up from the bore's edge. :nono: yeah i know.

so does anyone have a part number or something that i can use to order this part? i'm gonna need to order that and the pivoting bushing from toyota tommorrow.

here's another picture i found from a past thread.

that damn blue thing, whatcha call it?

Odds are toyota doesn't have it....I had to make my own out of brass and then press it in with an arbor.....if that bushing is the same as a w58 I maybe able to make you one but I need someone to confirm that r154 and w58 have the exact same shifter setup.

I never saw a bushing in mine...

More than likely the main issue was the truck busing on top of the old bushing. It would very quickly destroy the small socket on the end of the shifter...

so i bought a new pivot bushing and removed the unnecessary bushing i had in there making the pivot sit high. i have yet to get something to replace that thin piece of teflon or whatever that supposed to be around the bore.
feels great though! no more slop.

Honestly I don't know of any teflon style bushing in there as it's not needed (all the movement is a bit up and down, but not much)
