Is there a problem with my LSD?

It might be dumb, but I read everywhere that the LSD should spin both wheels.

That's either not the Limited Slip version of our diff, or it's busted. Badly.

Next question will be... how do you tell if the car came with LSD or not?

mine does this sometimes too, but mine spins the right tire lol.

theres a sticker on it that says LSD in red letters hehe

if you look inside the door panel there is an axle code there that will tell you if your car came with an LSD. If it is turbo it should have one, if it is NA its a toss up. You can search this site to find the thread with all the different axle codes and what rear end the code corresponds too.

^ This works as long as you know the diff. hasn't been swapped out.

Its a Turbo, that was originally turbo, with a swapped engine. Im gunna check the door and engine tags asap. Just been busy.

I read if it's a 3 or 5 at the third line it means LSD!

thats what i was thinking. it's a/t and i had the brake all the way down.

i was thinking one side might have more pad left and was just holding it tighter, but i'm not sure as of yet.

i need to just jack it up and put it in gear.

my tags and all indicate it should be lsd.

Your LSD might just be worn. How many miles are on the chassis?

i'm checking it tomorrow and going to change the oil on it.

jacked it up and both wheels spun, so i am figuring my LSD is fine.

I still plan to change the oil in it asap.

hey but guess what? While I was checking that, a ton of antifreeze spilled out from the front of the engine bay and the stock temp gauge went skyrocketing. new adventure everyday.

your wheels might still turn the same way, but at 160k your clutches are worn and will hot hook aggressivly, so yes one wheel will only burn out, reguardless you need a new lsd, or rebuild your factory one

The antifreeze leak was from the radiator cap being bent, so i am going to replace right now.

When I get the money I will go with a helical LSD, but for now I'm going to change the oil and just not drive her much

(not like i can anyways with all thats wrong lol)

many folks weld their LSD's creating a solid rear axel, but your tires will be dragging when making slow turns...

what im going to do is get the lsd shims and shim it to get the correct preload. if this works and remains working, i am good.

if not im going with a kaaz 2 way. but this isn't for a long time. i dont have a manual so im not launching, plan on doing no more burnouts, and have about 30 projects on top of each other right now.
