Is this how I upgrade to a 57 trim for my ct26?

I'll agree with the 'big tires kill stock transmissions' arguement, I've seen it myself.

I don't like the turbo wheel install.

He has a pretty good discussion on the HG failures of the 6.0's and how people ignore the signs and bitch when the engine gets fubar.

Sounds like someone needs a trans temp gauge....

Putting tires that big on a truck that was never engineered to have such things attached could be more the problem. I mean, how much heavier are they than stock tires? It's not the height, I think it's the weight, if that makes sense. It's like carrying around bowling balls in each hand, and trying to run laps with your arms extended. Gonna get tired quick without a way to cool off.

I think Devin said it best, if you stress your stock parts, you need to upgrade or find a way to alleviate that stress. How many of the trucks with giant tires like that have upgraded brakes? I just think the blame gets placed where it doesn't belong sometimes. Although, I dunno my head from my ass when it comes to auto transmissions, so take whatever I say on that subject with some salt...

The whole deal is that with larger OD tires, the stock trans shifts from 3rd to 4th/OD (or 4th to 5th) so often that it burns the clutch packs out. The solution is different gears for the differentials to bring it back into the rpm ranges the ECU wants to see so it doesn't hunt gears.

The weight of the tires is less of the problem, its the OD.

It's more the issue of having a heavy duty truck with an automatic transmission...

does not compute

This was my solution... never liked automatics, they're always hunting for gears. :nono:
