A fellow member on supraforums has offered to donate me a block since mine was damage by the machinist... It looks pretty rough so I'd just like some opinions if there will be any problems getting this thing cleaned up. I'm getting a full bore/hone etc.

I was not sure if I would really need another block but I got one anyways.
When I looked for a block, I tried to avoid ones that needed to be bored out.
I wanted one that would just need a hone job so I could use my stock pistons without getting different & bigger ones which would have been more $$$ for me.

CYLINDERS
Don't know what size pistons you have already.
People have bored out 7M block to .080" over.
You may not need that much removed at all, but you can have have those cylinders bored.

DECK
Deck can be machined as well. If much is removed from the deck, use a thicker HG.

CRANK TUNNEL
This would be my biggest concern. Just hope that there is oil behind those main bearings protecting it from rust as it sit. Now if it has considerable rust in the crank tunnel, a line bore would be in order. That would be about $175 in some shops. One member has said that many shops can't get the the crank tunnel as perfect as Toyota did, but another has said that these 7M block could benefit from a service since (as he said) are usually off.

OIL PASSAGES
Not sure how that would be dealt with at all. I wonder how they would treat it for rust in that area. Maybe an acid wash can handle that.

In order to do a proper magnaflux, they will probably need to clean it up first though.
