Update: I figured out the problem. I checked out the exhaust manifold and its connection to the side of the engine and all the nuts were loose. Fastened them up real quick and it did the job. Thanks guys!

Hey guys. I've been hearing this sound for quite a while now. I think it's an exhaust leak but not really sure. I was reading the thread right below mine to get a few questions answered, but because I took some videos of the sound, here they are.

All help is greatly appreciated!

That definitely sounds like an exhaust leak.

Check all exhaust manifold bolts and make sure they're torq'd to spec. Then see if there are any signs of an exhaust leak (black stuff) and try to inspect the gasket for damage.

I think the plate 'johnsf32' is referring to is the EGR Cooler Plate on the back of the head...??

last one sounds like an exhaust leak. I recently fixed this on my 7mgte and it was the connection between the turbo and the exhaust pipe was loose. For you it would be the connection between manifold and exhaust pipe.
