you should still do a leakdown test, block test, and compression test.

Did a coolant pressure test and cap test...everything was fine
also did a leakdown and it averaged like 15% my friend said across the board

He already did a Leakdown test... if you're losing 15% accross the board, that is a BHG!

Even with a BHG, if it doesnt immediately eject all the coolant out, and your thermostat is good, as long as you fill up the water, your temp's could very well 'be ok' up until the BHG outpaces being able to add coolant.

Denying it, you'll probably just overheat and cause more damage!

It averaged 15% and the guy that helped me out said that that was pretty damn good compared to some of the cars hes tested at the shop he works at.

I most definatly wouldnt question your experience and will take your advice trust me.
Question is do you think it would be cheaper to just buy an old motor maybee with rodknock? and just totally rebuild that and toss it in? Dont worry I wont turn this into one of those " are the J-spec engines better??" threads Just wanted to kinda save for a 1j so maybee ill fix it temp with a different motor .
not sure yet.

Well i've only done a leakdown on my own car, so maybe the guy at the shop does know better than me... but why the hell should you allow any leakage from the combustion chambers? I'll let someone more knowledgeable step in!

Would getting a JDM engine and rebuilding it be cheaper than what? It might provide a good alternative so you can rebuild it while the other car is still running...

To answer your question "Is there a BHG Section". The answer is yes, and it is generally found in the 7M section of all Supra websites and MKIII forums :)

lol i just got another bhg after using a composite hg and arps torqued down to 81, but i have no choice but to go with another composite because none of the machine shops around here can get a good enough finish for a mhg :(

It'd be cheaper just to replace the headgasket on the engine you've got. The last time I did mine (a little over a year and 22k miles ago, at ~15 psi), I did it for under $200 (Fel-Pro OEM style gasket, ARP bolts), and in an afternoon. Pulling & reinstalling the head are the hardest parts, unless you've got at least one helper. Just make certain that your gasket surfaces are clean. Having the head checked for warpage would not be a bad idea, either - I didn't, but maybe I'm lucky :).
