I know already that I'll get flamed for not changing my own oil, but flame on flamers. I have to work for a living and I don't mind paying someone else to do their job. I just expect them to do it right. Anyways...........

I was putting my wife's new turbo on cause I was getting a lot of oil in the ic and pipes. It was blowing out of the bov. I went ahead and had her turbo upgraded while I had it off. I cleaned everything up this morning, installed her turbo, and intercooler. Decided to change the oil while I had it jacked up. I have a four and a half quart bucket that I drained it into. I thought that it would be plenty big since I removed a qaurt from the intercooler. As it reached the top, I put the plug back in. Emptied the bucket, and was going to get the last half quart out of the car. The bucket filled all the way to the top again. Her car had at least nine quarts in it this morning not counting what I poured out of the intercooler. I guess the guys at the oil change place didn't drain it. They just put five more quarts in the car. I know it's not good for the car, and I really don't have a question. Just felt like posting it up. I guess it could have been put in general discussion. I do have one question, but it doesn't pertain to the amount of oil a car will hold safely.

I'm going to install her new catchcan. I know one hose needs to go to the accordian hose. Where should the other hose go? I've also seen that it needs to be on the cooler side of the car. Thanks for reading.............lol

Heh, this reminds me of an engine a member on here had come back after he rebuilt it. 15qts of oil in the thing...

Wonder why knowledgable people on here recomend doing your own oil changes? This isn't the 1st (or last) time this has happened.

I was just kidding about the ten quarts. I mean it had ten quarts in it, but I knew that was way too much. Just sounded like an eye catcher, so someone would actually read the thread. Usually I have to put something like nws in the title and then everyone wants to read it..............;)

JJ, it was an xpress lube near my house that has changed the oil in all four of my vehicles for ten years. This is the only problem I have ever had. I know the manager real well, and I'm going Monday to see him.

I got the turbo in and the catch can installed, but it doesn't seem to idle right. When you give it gas it seems to stall. I'll get it fixed tomorrow. Right now I'm fixing to take a shower, go get on the couch and not move.......lol

Yeah Nick, it stands to reason, that if ten is great, twenty has got to be twice as good. You can't argue with logic................lol

Some people just shouldn't change oil I guess.. even if it is their job.
I remember when I was like 12, I was at my friends house and his dad was changing the oil in his truck. He's filling it and checking it, filling it and checking it, filling it and checking it, finally he get's pissed and we're in the garage, so we're like "what's going on?"

He says "I keep adding oil, but it's not reading on the dipstick. I can't add any more, it's coming out of the filler pipe"
my friend and I look at each other, and I go over there, and show him that it is indeed reading on the dipstick, it's reading all the way to the top, as the dipstick tube was full to the brim as well as the filler pipe.
IIRC he had like 20+ qts in that thing...

I got everything put back together and took it for a test drive. When I get back their is a little smoke coming out from under the hood. Oil is coming out of the cps. At least that what it looks like, like it is dripping from it. I guess the ten quarts caused more damage than I thought. Is it possible for too much oil to cause the cps to leak oil. It wasn't leaking their before. Thanks for any help offered.

Not necessarily, mine is leaking (not dripping, but seeping) and I have never run more then 5 qts.

Be careful fixing it though, oil pressure might plummit ;)

The oil pressure gauge already reads low, but it always has. Every now and then it will go up to barely past half way.
