any input on the degree of difficulty of dis and re-assembly? any crucial specs or special tools needed?

Its not to difficult, however are you running a q45 tb? If so its going to be a little bit harder due to the complex setup. Just take a bunch of pictures cause diasassembly isn't as hard as reassembly (pretty much all the time). make sure you know which spring went where and directions and you should be fine. I'm doing mine right now.
