hahaha. he has an ls1. it is pretty nice. wierd story! the other night we went racing in it, and raced literally the same year, same mods, same tranny. just the other one was white lol. it was wierd.
You want to know what a 410-420 rwhp SS will run in the 1/4? Let me get back to you tomorrow evening (going back to the track). 2 weeks ago, with no tuning, he ran a 12.75 @ 109.67 mph
I don't hate camaros at all. I think they look great, but the LS1's are not that fast. There is a orange 99 SS around here that I've beaten twice easily. It runs good but it's not unbeatable for the original thread starter.
Doward, I'm sure the one you're working on would own me in a quarter. I'm hoping to run my car on October 20 at a quarter mile track. Surely to God, I can break into a 12. something.
watch out for the ls1s on the juice they're beefy..
lol @ the 109 with all that crap. A buddy of mine went 12.9@109 with full exhaust on his 01 ss a4..
fwiw my stock twined 2j went 12.6 @ 113 with 18" street tires (2.1 60') (and thats a weak mph for the twins)
ot: How do you like the hp tuners? I havn't looked into it that much (can i dl the software and play around with it? i havn't checked), but think im going to go that route with my z06. I hope vararam (intake) and a tune will get me 116-117 mph in the 1/4 (i weight more then most guys, hence the slow mph)..
Doward's buddy here. The 109 mph was on a hot and humid florida night. Along with tps/tranny tuning problems. At the 2-3 shift it was hesitating at 3500 rpms....shifted into 3rd around that rpm.....then downshift back into 2nd. Looks like rain all day here, probably won't hit the track. Should be good for about 115mph trap.....maybe close to 120 on a REALLY cool night here near sea level.
Stock...STOCK LS1 powered Camaros have hit 13 flat, yeah factory freaks but done none the less. But if you BPU your 2j you shouldn't have a problem with your buddies car. If he's turboing his camaro, see Tekdeus' pic :evil5:
