the twin 2j going into my 87 targa 5spd has one purpose. to beat the pants off of a buddy of mine and his fancy shamncy ss camaro with 410 to the ground. i have found that it consumes me to have a faster car instead of enjoying the supra for what it is....

any advice how to get gnarly power out of the 2j without blowing myself and/or the car to peices?

roflcopter. lolz. no. seriously. he is soon to be buying some sts turbo? or something like that. and under theory after another 4k or so, he will have like 800 hp. thats beast! but i feel the supra has a reputation to uphold and a BADASS car. and if you can tweak a twin 2j to beat a ferarri, then why not an ss camaro? i just need help lolz.

also, i want to stay twin instead of going single. i know i get less boost, but it spools way faster, right?

that doesnt make any sense though..i am not saying you are wrong or anything, but it just seems if i have to small ones going at the same time...it would go faster than one large one, and give me about the same amount of boost....right?

huh..i could follow his list of mods...but not as many. im not into dropping 50k just to go fast. i am going to be driving this or my miata everyday, so im down with just being able to beat my friends camaro.

Twin turbo's are limited in power. I think the stock 1J twins are only good for something like 350wrhp (not 100% sure on this). Sure the stock twins will spool a lot quicker, but they can't create the power a big single will because they can't push as much air. Sure the big single will take longer to spool (stock 1J for example has almost no lag, where a big single will take a few seconds), but what's a couple second wait for a huge boost in power? I love the twins, but big single is where you get the real power.

A good size single turbo is a must for a 2J

Not needed for his goal though..he is only trying to race an SS Camaro, not a Turbo Busa :icon_bigg

You have to admit though, a turbo as large as our cylinder head is hella cool.

full BPU 2J will beat him hard... and leave him crying...

if he throws 4K into his car to put down more power...do the same and beat him again (single turbo setup with fuel to support it and a standalone)
