I agree with the drunk medic, try that and see what he does. As far as the porn goes, if you think it's something gross (and please tell me you don't have weird fettish type porn on your comp), he'll probably end up liking it.

Yeah Godspeed--I may just send him two pictures: the first would be a picture of the laptop, and the second would be a closeup of my middle finger. But I'm not sure if that would be as funny, or as costly to him--unless i filled the box with something else.

is he having you send it overseas?

usually in the scams that require you to send it overseas, they will ask for you to put a value of like 20 dollars, so they dont have to pay taxes, I was reading about some person in the same situation as you (laptop scam) where the guy built a fake laptop out of cardboard or something (I dont remember exactly) and put a costoms value of like 5k, making him pay hundreds of dollars in taxes, thinking he was getting a 2k laptop, but ended up screwing himself.

Spam may be the way to go. I imagine most of these scammers do their work out of internet cafes, so the more porn/spam they have to browse through the more time they have to waste before actually getting to their scam--I mean, "business"--emails. Although I imagine they are pretty used to changing email addresses frequently due to their line of work...The domain that the mail from the buyer came from was Yahoo.com, so that's hard to track, and the phony PayPal reply-to address he wanted me to send the tracking number to was directed to mailto:verificationclearx@accountant.com

And he is asking me to send it overseas, using a FedEx account number that he probably hijacked. Here are the deets on that:

I do remember reading about the guy that sent a nigerian scammer a fake laptop with a huge declared value, but I also remember the guy that sent it to him kinda disappeared before finishing the story, so...:dunno:
