ok so i drained ALL the oil from all the lines then on top of that i poured a half a quort and let that drain out to to clean everything out. then i put a new filter on and put some fresh oil in and fired it up and took it for a drive.. and the oil is still perfect... and it runs perfect. no smoke. im thinking that when i took off the intake mani i got some coolent in the oil some how... either that or it got into the oil cooler when i had it out.. its possible.. and there was barley any coolent in there after i got all the oil out and inspected it.

well, IJ, he really SHOULD retorque after 500 miles anyway...

Though it seems the ARP studs back out easier than the bolts...

Best money you will spend in your tool box.

I broke down and bought one recently too, after 20 years of working on my own cars. I am not ashamed to admit I may have changed a head gasket unnecessarily in the past too (but it is a god way to calm nerves and see what's going on)!
That EXACT kit is available here under the ABW branding.

Regards, Andrew.

You could always just hit the search button...

Loosen (in correct order) one bolt, then torque it, move onto the next.
