Is it my starter or the solenoid?

ok so i tried to crank my car and it wouldnt start, it just clicked...tried a couple of times until i tried it once and i help it for a few seconds and it worked.
Anyone know what this could be? someone said it could be the solenoid.

Probably the starter contacts are worn down so they don't make good contact. I'd suggest replacing them.

I bought a new starter (re-manufactured) and i have the same problem..... i ran a push button start from the fuse box to the button and then to the starter in hopes that it was a ignition issue but .... i have the same problem still.

Should i replace the starter or check for something else

even though i ran power straight to the starter VIA the push button start?

Mine were solenoids. And as I have this problem once again, I should go and get them repaired
