Cold cranking amps is a rating at zero degrees farenheight. Cranking amps is the rating at 32 degrees. When is it zero in Florida? Those are things you can consider.
Jake, Grim Jack said it best. Go this way and you'd better keep the motor and cold start system in perfect tune. Also keep in mind CPS signal output is proportional to cranking speed and there's a minimum needed. Add to that the ECU itself doesn't like a B+ below 11 volts. Imo you're asking for trouble.
We use the 680 in our Formula cars which use a 3.5L Renault. I would recommend bigger. Car will start once on its own then you need a jumper unless it was just running and being charged by the alternator then you might get a few tries, but probably half the electronics running off of it. Go with the bigger!

^ It's funny, with the PFM's we ran it was the same situation. If the dash was left on then you had even less chance it would start even once.
But in my Supra, after sitting over night in -10F it struggled a tiny bit that morning but it was never a concern of mine for it not to start.

Can these battery be charged? Or if playing stereo can a running battery charger keep it from dying? Thanks

heh. well, as already stated in this thread, the batteries mentioned here may be advertised as "dry cell" but they're not....
I have the PC680 and I love it. Bought it when I was NA, blew the engine, the battery died from cranking the car and using windows/other accessories. The battery sat for many months and I thought was completely dead, but I brought it into a batteries+ store and they brought it back to life. It sat in my garage for about 2 months and I just recently put it back in the car and it started up first try. The battery weighs 15 lbs. As already stated I also would not recommend this battery for people with large stereos or lots of added accessories.
Have you guys thought of using a battery out of a late 90's Honda?, they are about 2/3s the size of the stock battery, and shoould still have a decent amount of CCA. you might even be able to turn it sideways to allow room for the IC pipe.
Like I've said before, I have been using the PC680 for a couple of years now with no problems. It has a little trouble keeping a charge for extended periods of time when its very cold, but I'm going to invest in one of those $15 trickle chargers for the winter. Nothing like losing 25 pounds off the front end.

why did i opt for the 925? simple: capacity. sure the 680 might cut it....but leave your stereo on for a few minutes or have some sort of drain and it's done. not to mention the problems you'll have if you ever decide to drive your car in the cold. i have several friends that run the 925 year round here in MI....
be aware that most of the "other" batteries you find out there are merely repackaged odysseys.

If one of these fit up I'm deff getting one as well, I don't want to relocate my battery, because the local track require a on/off button on the back of you car for it. And damn my ABS wil put that battery option out of my avaliablitlity.
