heh, i think you guys are being fooled by my camera's awesome ability to take really good closeups, that'll probably measure to 1mm, but ok torx, thats all i wanted to know

looks like i'm making myself a miniscrewdriver at work to take it apart. done it before
funny thing happened yesterday that changes everything, kinda. so i'm driving home from jersey and i take an offramp 'ultimate driving machine' style (i've been driving my dad's 3series lately) and my phone slides off the passenger seat. so i pull over right after the toll to grab it, and upon reaching my hand under the seat, out comes..my old ipod!! it's been lost, sitting there for probably more than half a year and i find it right after i bring alive this new pod i've been building for many moons! man i feel dumb.
so now that i have my old pod back, i wont be as uneasy about taking this iPhrank apart more extensively. I'm gonna get creative with this extra pod

fiberglass it and build your own face plate...
incorporate a Supra emblem in there if you can...

I cleaned the shell up a little bit. For paint, i'm thinking a yellow base, and thats all i've decided for now. i dunno, i always wanted a yellow ipod:biglaugh:

a little paint..it came out great with a 2 primer coats, 4 yellow, and 5 clear
and the mockup
(looks better in the sun as you can see)
im still commin up with ideas for the clickwheel and backing plate
and im gonna fix up that screen edging, or workout somekind of a frame for it.
and that screen underside overspray is taken care of

yep, i was thinkin about doin the taxi cab theme with some checkerboard vinyl for the backing plate and that or a black clickwheel, but i dont feel like spending 15 bucks on a roll of checkboard vinyl if i only need a little piece.
It seems fake carbon fiber is alllll over the the internet and i can get a nice sized sheet for like 4 bucks, so i just might do that.
