But with aftermarket links do you have to weld in reinforcement so you don't just blow the stock tabs right off?? I don't want ugly ass strut bars and a hacked up interior : /

Strut tower bars and sway bars are two different things man. Sway bars utilize the end links. The strut tower bars just bolt to the top of your struts. On the MK III's you do have to hack up your rear interior to make them work. You should beable to make it clean though.

I realize the difference, I guess I'm just asking if the only way to run stiffer sway bars is to connect them to a strut bar, or if there are other venues for reinforcement.

HI! my name is Leon and I have a Supra problem.
Here's mine..
It's just a stock Celica 22R-E, so I'll just be bringing up the tail on any cruises.

No that I know of but you should be fine just buying sway bars and adjustable end links. Maybe a set of traction bars. I've heard those bend after time on our cars.

I would certainly check out the traction bars first to see if they're bent. The stock pair on my '88 were bent so badly the car wasn't even able to be correctly aligned.

Also, as has been discussed in many other threads on SM, strut bars don't do much good at all on MKIII Supras.

How about Sterling IL? Not to far away?

Usually I take 20 through Rockford to get to chi-town to see my bro who lives out there, and I promised him I'd drive the poopra out once I got it started.... Maybe I should see how 30-88 fares and pay you a visit? A little MK3 highway cruisin never hurt anyone. Besides it would be nice to actually see one of these cars from the outside for once... I think there are maybe 4 MK3s in the whole city of Cedar Rapids. Only one of them is actually worth looking at ;)

I'm disappointed at the inactivity of this thread!!!

Also pissed that I can't remember the last time I worked on my car. Can anyone help me out with pics for where (specifically) they mounted their intercooler? I am gonna have to drill holes in the frame I believe, but the brackets I have don't line up any-freakin-where...

I am new to Iowa but not supras. Just got a 92 last year. It is sitting in storage for the winter. Might be out and about in the spring but there are precious few supras in the QC.

Welcome Al! A friend of mine is from the quad city's and has a silver mk II. Not sure if it runs though :\ . I'm planning a meet in Des Moines this summer if your interested in coming down. We had one a few years back. Unfortunately my car wasn't there and wasn't a huge turn out. Here's a picture.

Yup! Thats exactly who it is lol. There's a 7mgte in it now. Not sure if it runs or not though.

If he needs help let me know. I have done a 7m into a Mk2 and know how to wire it up. He lives pretty close to me so it wouldn't be a problem.
