I just finished painting mine... I used Dupli-color vinyl and fabric paint. For prep I used a cleaning wipe to clean the pieces, then I used soap and water with a brush to rid of any dust/dirt that was left. Then I dried it with a cloth towel and painted it with about 3-5 coats per piece.

It came out pretty nice, but I'm thinking the pieces need a clearcoat for extra protection. Other than that, everything came out really nice. I used the flat black paint, I think it looks better than a glossy finish. Hope that I was able to help you at least a little.

Helps out alot man thank you, is it spray paint or roll on with a foam brush? Was it hard to do? Also do you have any pics I could see?

Last question, how long did this take? Id like minimal downtime, like a day or 2.

The paint I used was spray paint. It took me a few weekends to do, but was easy. It took me so long because I was taking parts out of three different cars and working on other stuff at the same time. I would say you could get it done in a weekend if you work hard. Its definately worth it in the end, I'm really pleased with the way it looks. It would be helpful to know whether or not clearcoat is needed, though.

Out of curiosity, what color scheme are you doing? All black, or some color combination?

Im going ALL black, then picking up some red paint and a fine paint brush and all the "stictching" around the dash, Im gonna paint red, its gonna take me a while haha.

Oh how much did this cost?

That'll look really good, post pics when you're finished. The cost was probably around $100 or something, it wasn't too bad

yeah I went through alot of paint. I did 7 coats for the dash, even though I probably didn't need to. I didn't take the dash out because I couldn't figure out how :)

when you take the dash out, would you mind posting pictures of the different bolts and screws that need to come out? It would be good for future references and others doing the same thing.

I do have an AIM, but I'm barely ever on it. my email is slamdunkcb@yahoo.com, I'm on that often. I already have some pictures of like three of the bolts I've taken out of the dash and of most of the other trim piece screw locations, I just can't find the other dash screws.
