I'm pretty much done with my interior color change. Now the problem is that I still have Oxblood seatbelts in the front. I pulled the rear belts since I can't see anyone fitting back there anyways.

I've looked into the option of dyeing them, but I haven't found anywhere that endorses this due to the coating found on the belts. I've also heard speculation that most dyes with actually eat into the nylon belts and weaken them.

So my only option is to replace them with black belts. Any ideas? There is a salvage yard only 1 mile away from me. Are there any seatbelts that are a direct swap into our cars?

Couldn't you go to a junk yard and get black belts from another car that are longer than you need and, carefully cut the seams or threads where it's sewn together, slip off the hardware, clasp, e.t.c. and re sew it with your hardware, clasp and "what not's"?

I have also been looking for some black direct-swaps, but have not heard of anything specific working. There are plenty of universal options, but they do not come with the electrical connector/sensor for the seatbelt warning light. They are usually about $35-$50 for a set of fronts.

Another option is to get the shadow grey belts from Toyota. Even with our discounts they are about $135 each.

I am still hoping that we could use a set from another Toyota (Celica, Corrolla, etc).
