Another interesting thing about the two chemicals. The label remover "Goof Off", is 50/50% Toluene, and Xylene, with some color added to it! now I'm not saying that I would pour "Goof Off' in my gas tank!:aigo: just thought that was interesting. I did recently try Toluene, and noticed an immediate difference in performance, WoW!:icon_razz I am curious to know how much Toluene it takes per 10 gal. of 92 oct, to reach the 100-105 oct level?

You would need to go 50% toluene to get about 100 octane.

Here's the math:

(A x gas octane) + (B x 114 or 117) / (A + B) = Octane Value

A = gallons of gas
B = gallons of toluene
114 = octane value of toluene
117 = octane value of xylene

Not too sure I'd want to go to the 50% level with this...mixing a gallon of either with a tank of 91-92 octane gas will give you about 94 octane.

Hey Guys - was able to buy Xylene in a 5 gallon can for $9 a gallon at Sherwin Williams. Toluene is a lot harder to get (prolly cause of the Meth thing), but the Sherwin Williams Commericial store has it downtown. It's closed now, but hopefully Toluene will be a bit cheaper.

Hope you guys are using the correct precautions when handling/mixing this stuff!
(pretty damn toxic from memory)

Why thank you IJ :icon_mrgr

My plan is to use a 1 gal gas can (a metal one) and fill outside, in daylight with a nice big funnel. Gonna use a long tranny funnel to get it in the tank...def don't want to get this nasty stuff on the paint!
