So my friend wrecks my 89 turbo with 89 turbo motor. I found a 90 N/A body to put my 89 turbo motor in. Got into the swap and of course there is an ECU and harness difference. Looked on here and found a 92 turbo ECU and put it in the car. The car idles, and drives fine. When I get on it it seems to bog down and doesn't wanna accelerate really at all. Before the swap of course it ran like a scalled dog!
Can anyone help me with this? I know there are a million posts about the ECU/Harness issue but this has a little twist because the car is now not running properly. I feel that the ECU isn't mixing the right amount of fuel to air it backfired pretty bad one time.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me its greatly appreciated!

That's an awesome site thanks! Here's my problem though I posted a thread right after this one about my dash. My speedometer is the only thing on my dash besides turn signals that are working. Not the temp gauge (which I have an aftermarket for) but the tach, gas gauge, oil gauge, or gas gauge are working along with that the dash lights (check engine, seat belt, etc) aren't working either after the swap. The 89 gauge is in the 90 car is that a problem? Should I find a 90 turbo gauge? I was almost positive that they would be interchangeable. Any help with that would be great. Those are the two biggest things wrong with this car since the swap.
ps: the 89 turbo my friend wrecked was almost perfect!
Thanks again!

I guess I need to be looking for something called a m3 plug for the instrument issue.

I just wanted to explain sort of what this hesitation is like...its like starting a cold car and gunning it....tries but just no go. I checked for a boost leak like maybe one that has a big hole, but no holes that are visible, and I'm assuming that if I can't see the hole its not big enough to cause that big of a hesitation. Or am I wrong?

Also there is a yellow sensor looking component says ASSY Toyota Turbo I'm almost positive it has to do with the boost gauge (which mine is aftermarket) in front of the speed control. it has a vacuum hose coming off of it and it goes into a "T" with another hose coming off of it which connects to my boost gauge, but the other one goes nowhere, and when the car's running I can feel it sucking in air. Does anyone know where this guy goes? Could something so small call such a huge hesitation.
