By getting rid of that big ugly "intake resognator(sp)" thing you do feel faster throttle response, in the resognator(Sp) it gets pretty narrow, definatly a big restriction, also now when you rev you'll hear it sucking in the air alot more.

Shes a work in progress, so please pardon her uglyness

Thats what I am doing. Just keep an eye on the classifieds for a cheap genric intake tube off any old car. All you need is that nice 45 degree bend, the pipe after that hardly matters. Look around and you can find the pipe for $10-20. Filter on a stick. Done.

Thanks guys, I had heard certain years of Accord intake tubes would fit but didn't know what to go after. Did either of you have to remount or adjust the postion of the AFM? How much are those big K&Ns?

I had to cut about 3 inches off of the pipe, hacksaw + 5 mins and you;re set. Other then that you need a longer vacuum hose and couplers to hold the pipe in place. My afm never moved, didn't even unbolt it. My K&N fipk was like 230 off ebay

definatly worth it id say, no useless nipples on it then and you wont have to hold the shame of having a honda part on your car. I'd probably be in for it too lol.

ok since this fell though I thought i would post a quick write-up on what I did last time someone asked me how I did mine, here it is:

Ok, What I did was go to the import shop and got a piece of 3" intake piping, I didn't get any exact length, they only had one size, I used the stock elbow at the throttle body and then went and got a 3" coupler for the MAF, I cut the pipe to around to 14 to 15 inches. Depending on how long/short you cut the pipe you may have to bend the support arm for the MAF a little bit. The best way to get a good fit is to cut it a bit long then keep triming a little bit off till you get a perfect fit. (this is what I did). It will be a tight fit. I know this sounds a lot more complicated as it really is, but its not too bad, maybe took me around 10 min. to do. If you have any more questions I would be glad to help. Jesse
