Does anyone see why this wouldn't be a viable option for a less expensive way to upgrade your stock intercooler?

Pictured below is the Evo X stock intercooler, which I believeif you mounted it upside down of the way the picture depicts it, I think it would make a great upgrade but I'm looking to see if anyone has already done this or if they think it wouldn't be possible and why?

How tall is that core? If the inlet/outlet on that thing is 2" then a good hunk of that core would be covered by the A70's bumper reinforcement, meaning that it wouldn't get any airflow. That'd be the same as a reduced core size. Also, the IC piping would be a pain to route around from the other side.

If I were to use that, I would run it so that the lower IC hose from the turbo goes around to the left side of the car, and into that side inlet. Tilt the IC so that it gets maximum exposure through the A70 grille, and then run the outlet straight up the top and towards the intake (Assuming a 7M, and not a 1JZ)

Having either IC pipe coming straight down from the IC is asking for ground clearance issues, IMO. The IC already sits low enough that it's sometimes a problem with my Spearco replica, and I've had to replace that one silicone coupler at the bottom of the IC a couple times from parking lot rash, plus a nasty speed bump at my old condo which would bump it sometimes (And my car is still at stock ride height.)

Unless it's free, and you can TIG aluminum, It won't be worth the effort when you can buy a drop in upgrade from Driftmotion or ebay.
