Hello, I just replaced my clutch hose and while under the car I noticed these hoses (took of the rockplate before I realised I didnt need to...)

If you look at the leaking hose, that has to be replaced Im thinking and I already plan to hardpipe the intercooler (staying with the stock intercooler as I haven't been told a reason to actually upgrade that yet). Im just wondering, rather than stock hoses, should I go with steel braided lines if they exist? Im not sure what runs through these lines, but I am assuming either oil or coolant (havent went into the TSRM yet).

Just wondered if anyone had a quick answer/suggestion. I would rather ask before doing as some of you will already have done this and found good ways.

oh, btw... the green fluid (if you can see it) is antifreeze coming from an upper connection on a hose not shown here. Thats a different issue : ) Both lines shown here are to be replaced once I decide on the proper hose to use.

Thanks!

It looks like your oil cooler line that is leaking. If you really want to do the setup right search through the Oil/Lubrication section hosted by JDub. He has a tutorial on how to hook up a full flow oil system. If you just need to replace the hose, any tranny cooler hose will work. there are some stainless steel braided hoses available but if you go that route you might as well just do the Full-flow system mentioned above.
Good Luck!

those two lines next to the intercooler pipe lead back to the oil filter housing... would have taken about 30seconds to trace them back.

no reason for stainless steel lines unless you go with a full on oil cooler setup.
just go down to the auto store and get some power steering hose to replace them with. dont use heater hose!

I did an eye trace and thought they connected into the battery side of the intercooler. The car was up on jacks and I was doing the clutch master cylinder hose, so I didn't spend the time I should have down there. This is my second month of owning a Supra, so I am still in learning mode and appreciate all the help greatly. (its like learning a new language sometimes.. lol). Looking for the section mentioned to see what's there as I am interested in doing the car right. Im not into 450+ hp... just having a great car to drive that is gonna last me the next 10+ years.

Now.. off to read more!

Found the thread. Great post! I think I'm gonna source/price out the Type 1 mod and go with that. In study mode now, doesnt seem too expensive and seeing as it looks like a definite improvement over the stock oil filter/lines, i think for longevity its the way to go so far. Thanks for pointing that out.
