The only reason you would want something that big is to handle a HUGE turbo. You're much better off sizing the IC (and piping) to the flow your turbo produces.

I know what you mean JDub. My main question was concerning the design of the intercooler, not the size. Should have made myself more clear

Ahhh...I see ;)

It's a bar & plate (same as Spearco) and the pressure drop is not too shabby. The only thing that doesn't make a lot of sense is it only flows 700 CFM and it's got a 3" inlet/outlet...I was expecting more from an IC that size. 3" piping is a little much for most of the turbos we run...nothing a 2 1/2" - 3" reducer wouldn't take care of ;)

It would be a PITA to fit too!

I dislike the endtanks. Also, maybe the IC core has something to do with how well it flows, it's backwards from the cores used in spearco ICs. Look at how the bars go side-to-side, on a spearco or replica they go from top to bottom...

agreed. the flow of that at 700cfm is kinda whimpy and im betting has to do with the poor design on the tanks on both sides. the spearco is a top to bottom and is fairly smooth for flow. the one in the above link forces the air to make some hard angles on the flow side. not sure what ya mean that the spearco is "busy" but an ic of that design is more efficient over all.

Aggreed, this its having to push the air through 4 feet+ of IC instead of inches like a normal IC.

It should cool like a mother but I can see why the flow would be affected.

Its an interesting piece though and the price is killer.

if you decide to use it then you should let us know. i see these kind of threads all the time about intercoolers and turbos off of ebay, but nobody lets us know how it worked out for them.
