so I'm thinking of buying new intercooler pipes for my car. Should I buy upper and lower, or would the upper just be fine, those seem to be more restrictive, I might just do piping for now. I saw that LIPP makes a good kit for the upper, anyone else have it?

Your piping is only as good as your worst restriction. I'd do the whole kit at once. You can get the Driftmotion 2 1/2" kit for about $160. With that kit, you get all the piping you need, all the couplers, and T-Bolt clamps. You want to replace that stock pipe coming off the turbo just so you no longer have to worry about it cracking anymore. To me, Top only is just for looks.

+1 on the driftmotion 2 1/2" kit.

Take a look at my build thread, I just did it. And might I add you need more than what is in the kit, (4) 2.5"->2.25/2.0" Couplers, (2) 2.5" 45* silicone bends and (1) 2.5" 90* silicone bend. Then count in $100 bucks or so on welding.

You will have some pipe left over and you won't use any of the straight couplers that are in the kit. You could make your own kit btw. You need a (2) 45* bends with approximately 12" on each side of the bend. (2)18" straight pieces. and (1) 180* U-Turn pipe with about 10" on either side of the bend. If you buy them all seperately you can keep your price down from the kit. More money for an intercooler.

A pre-built kit will run at least 400 bucks. Do it yourself and you can cut that price at least in half.
