So I bought the drift motion intercooler kit for the 7mgte and it comes with a bov setup I've already bought a different bov for it.

My car is mostly stock I did this because my stock intercooler has a hole in it and pipes are shit so my question is since or cars are stock resirculated bov what's the best way to run a atmosphere valve? And what's the cheapest way? How harmful is it to run the to the.atmosphere with out changing anything?

Thanks in advance.

Someone told me a vpc but where would I find one for our cars?

im not sure what damage it can do but i know you run rich between shifts (depending on which bov you use like the hks you can get a fitting to recirculate it)

i have a set up that the bov is vented to the atmosphere and when i shift i see the afr's drop and go back to normal, i also get a pop every now and then out the exhaust

im trying to keep a eye out for the right size fitting that goes on my bov so i can recirculate it because i want to

Brandon you just clamp a hose on the greddy type s. The threads on the inside are for the little colored mouth.

I run the same bov vented with no problems.

Theres no right or wrong way to vent. Either you do or you dont.

So your running it with out anything as of right now? Do you daily drive yours? Your engine looks very clean.

yeah the bov is just vented and the port on the accordion hose is just capped for now

i usually dont drive my car if its raining or while the salt is down in the winter since i have a 4runner also, during those times i just put it in the garage
when the supra was my only car i would drive it all year long rain or snow

didn't seem like i could find a hose that would fit on the bov and then reduce so i could clamp it on the accordion hose

i wanted to use one of these

The S-AFC has a sub-program that cures the over-rich condition when going to an open BOV,
and HKS has the EIDS add-on that does the same thing.

The over rich condition comes from air going through the AFM, but dumping through the BOV.
The ECU gets a signal of lots of air, and puts enough fuel to the engine to cover it, although the air is not going into the engine.

Both the S-AFC, and the EIDS modifies the signal going to te ECU to keep it from seeing the higher air flow.
Seeing that the EIDS is almost as expensive as a S-AFC, the wiser choice is the S-AFC, since you can do so much more with it.

yeah i understand whats happening and im just running the stock ecu no piggy-backs

for now im not having any problems other then running rich between shifts

i'll probably recirculate it at some point (but i do like how the bov sounds vented)
