im going to have to look around for something, mk4 tt rotors wouldent be a problem to get, but it would be nice to find something that fit on the hub with no machining. getting them macined is no big deal since i live in a city that relies on such buisness. the calipers, lines, and brackets would be a different story im sure. i know how you feel about the brakes. im just very intersted as i had an episode with them tonight. i just got the car working again and decided to test it out on an obnoxious escalade. it ytook forever to bring it down from 180km/h.

You'll need to take 5mm off the Mk3 Hub OD so the rotors will fit over them then you need a spacer as the centre hole on the Mk3 is 60mm and 62mm on the Mk4's!

I machined the spacer to press fit onto the Mk3 centre pilot then turned it's OD to match the Mk4 rotor this was it's perfectly concentric.

There's an ENORMOUS difference in braking with this setup and repeated stops from high speed don't seem to have any effect!

wheels are turning in my head... i just got the car on the road and now i may have to take it off again for another project... i wonder if there would be any other rotors out there of a decent size that would fit with no machining. it would probably be easier to just get the hub trimmed down. who knows i may be selling some brand new powerslots very soon... :crazy1:

TSM: Just went straight to the AP's as that was always the plan!

I actually considered making my own Hats for 2 piece rotors but the handbrake was going to be a PITA to get right so bailed and used the Mk4 TT's glad now I did as they're of the shelf parts if I ever need to replace them!

haha im glad to see my picture is still floating around.

Yeah i do a ton of highway driving and i think thats why i was turned off by the idea originally. At 80mph on 373 you are just a little over 3000rpm.

Stock tires... cant say i've topped my car out though haha so i cant give you that one.

I guess it's all a matter of preference.

I have 3.91 gearing and with sawblades I hit 147 @ i think 5800.... I only glanced quickly since shit was flying by HELLA fast and cars were fast approaching.

If it makes a difference; on the 391 @ 80 I am at 3250-3300 RPM...
