I was looking online trying to find a way to replace my stock intake and I noticed that the throttle body is positioned farther to the right than on most pics I've seen of the engine. My car is an 86 1/2 Auto if that makes a difference and that was my initial guess, but wanting to know for sure because I'm wanting to eventually swap trannys and go n/a-t. I posted a couple pic below to show a comparison.

random pic I found. Thank you to the owner for the example

You look like you have a Cressida 7MGE, which did not have ACIS, which is why the intake manifold looks different.

It wouldn't surprise me because the previous owner showed me pictures showing that the engine had recently been rebuilt but he didn't have the car when it was done. It is possible that he changed the intake manifold or I'm not certain if he didn't change the motor. What is ACIS and is it important?

hes right and thats good if your planning on going n/a-t dont worry about it because now the ready made turbo intercooler pipes will prolly bolt right up.

ACIS is the active intake system it changes runners in the intake manifold for more low end torque. its not important but a GE feels like a dog anything under 4k without it. if hes going turbo its no big deal.

I guess thats good news since I do plan on going n/a-t eventually, but i did notice that it didn't have the low end power that it should. I guess i may look into boosting a little bit sooner.
