I have heard of that happening.. I caught NationWide charging me for my DEAD mother on my car because she was a licensed driver at the house I was at..She had been dead for 3 years! It took me faxing in a copy of her death certificate to prove to them she was deceased.. They will also try to strong arm you into paying if there is another person listed on the title of your car (whether or not they live with you), if you dont already pay for them to drive the vehicle.. I have GEICO and have never had a problem with them, ever..

Whole family uses USAA. Never had any prob. It cost me nothing to add my fiance as a secondary driver.

If I were you, I would take them up on their second offer (to get better insurance).

Yup, 3rd generation. I have 2 cars (full coverage) renters, and valuable property insurance and get away less than some pay for one car. Plus I bank with them.
