I'm going to be installing my gt35r onto Vonda's 89 supra. She has a built automatic and a rebuilt 7mgte. I finally got rid of all the little bugs that have plagued me for over a year and a half. No code fifty two FTW!!!!

I bought a new manifold and a t4 to t3 adapter for it. I plan on running a new oil feed and a new oil drain. I have the Lexus afm and the 550's already installed along with a walbro fuel pump. It also has the SAFCII installed and that's what I plan on adding more fuel with.

I was wondering how the stock ecu is going to like this larger turbo. I know it's not a large turbo but it is bigger than the ct26. It's been so long since I've had to deal with the afm that I was wondering if it's going to be throwing the abnormal boost code. Hopefully it won't. Her upgraded turbo that's on it now throws that code every once in a while. I'll make sure and double check all of the couplings before I run it.

Hopefully I won't have any problems with this setup, but if you know of any, please let me know so I can head them off. Thanks.

Should be fine as long as you stay under fuel cut. But SAFCII will only get you so far, at least that is my understanding.

Yeah you shouldn't get boost codes unless you fuel cut...which you probably will with the new turbo lol.

It should be fine but get the car dyno tuned!

Could always get rid of the SAFC and the afm and go map-ecu :D get more tuning intervals and you can tune with a laptop. Oh also it changes the reading to MAP and you use the injector frequencies to control fuel cut.

I'm not that worried about fuel cut since she doesn't plan on running too much boost. I would like to run it at around fifteen psi though without any problems. The SAFC will be sufficient for right now on the tuning. I was just curious about any problems although I couldn't think of any that I knew I would have. I just wanted to be ready for them in case someone else had already had them. Thanks.

you should be able to hit 15, not sure how it compares, but i've run up to 17psi in my t64 with stock ecu, 550/lex, safcII without fuel cut, that kicks in at 18

Different cars are going to hit fuel cut at different boost levels, but I think I'll be good to go. Thanks.

I'm hoping the built A340e will like the new added horsepower. I don't really look forward to rebuilding it again. I've spent two grand on just the tranny so it should be good to go for at least a year or so...........hopefully longer.
I'll be tearing it down today or tomorrow. I'll try to get some pictures.

I took Vonda's car out for one last drive before I tear out the old turbo. The new turbo should start going on sometime tomorrow if I get through with work in time.

I'm still on stock ECU with SAFC. Fuel cut shouldn't be a problem at 15psi. I do have the Lexus AFM adjustment screw all the way out and barely hanging on with some tape on the threads ;) With water meth I didn't hit fuel cut even at 28psi, but that's pulling 22+ on the SAFC to compensate for the methanol/h2o

Do you have the R154? The auto is probably going to be her only limitation on horsepower. It's probably a great tranny, but I don't know how long it will take the abuse of 450rwhp or there abouts.

Should be quite fun with that turbo Jay.

Great pics what kind of camera you using?:icon_razz

Did you hit your head on the steering wheel when you came out of boost? It's your camera silly and you took most of the pictures. I knew getting old was going to be tough, but you're scaring me now...........:biglaugh:

Thanks for the other comments as well, and Jeff, I'll take pictures as I go. They probably won't be as good as the one's George's camera took, but hopefully they won't be in black and white.

Thanks Mike, if and when it tears up again, I will. When I said I'd be tearing it apart, I meant the turbo assembly and down pipe. Hopefully this trans is going to last her for a while though.
