the basic idea, as i think nash stated above, is to increase the boiling point of your coolant, thus making it cool more efficiently without boiling over.

Which is why I do not understand why he would say not to run the 16 pounder. Sounds like a good reason TO run it. :dunno:

Most of our cars are 15 years+ and my guess is Nash is going on the side of safety as we all know how fussy 7M's can be with cooling issues.

Scenario: 16 psi cap pinhole in the heater core or one of the old hoses cooling system sucks in some air you get an air pocket it turns to steam eventually it gets worse then BINGO BHG!

The unsuspecting newbie think ohhhh it's out of water I'll dump some in and anneals the head so minor BHG goes to replacement head and depending on how bad maybe replacement motor after the milkshake in the pan takes out the bearings......

This is just a guess mind Nash may have another reason totally different ;)!

lol makes sense. Good thing my engine was rebuilt properly. Has about 6k miles on it, new hoses pretty much new everything. I can't wait to wake up bright and early tomorrow and tighten up the rest of the turbo lines, install my ic pipes and downpipe, add oil, coolant, burp the system and start her up. Been a long 5 weeks.
